Andy Barringer, OMS
Andy Barringer is an osteopathic medical student at ATSU-SOMA. Originally from The Land of 10,000 Lakes, more commonly known as Minnesota, he has been interested in sustainable global health since volunteering on a medical mission trip to El Salvador with an organization called Enlace in 2014. Upon graduating from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and before beginning medical school in Arizona, he spent time studying Spanish and volunteering with a social justice organization committed to serving people experiencing homelessness in urban parts of Medellín, Colombia. After learning about MGY and Capacidad and their commitment to developing innovative, sustainable solutions to address health disparities around the world, he knew it was an organization he would be honored to contribute to. MGY & Capacidad and those they serve have expanded his understanding of global health and healthcare delivery in developing countries, and has allowed him to continue serving communities in need around the globe alongside other like-minded and diverse individuals. In his free time, you can find him salsa dancing, reading about global health and theology, or biking around Tucson.
