Team of Ugandan and US Physicians, Nurses, healthcare providers, Engineers, and Educators.
THE NEED
This hospital will be the first in the northern region of Uganda, where 1 out of 10 children die before their 5th birthday. Majority of residents have no healthcare and live in poverty. Maternal and child mortality is cited as some of the highest in the world. Malaria and malnutrition have been normalized. HELP US CHANGE THAT!
A HOSPITAL
A team of Ugandan physicians with the non-profit, NUMEM, have teamed with US partners and purchased land and designed plans for the first hospital in the region. NOW WE ARE READY TO BUILD IT!
SUSTAINABILITY
All teams have been working together to find ways how to sustain health costs, staff training, medical supplies, and connect with ministry of health for support. The same teams have successfully developed and oversee the largest train the trainer community health worker program in Uganda, the Laro Kwo Project.
